This past summer I interned with Tiger Communications, a media conglomerate controlling four radio stations in the Auburn, AL., area. It was a rich experience that provided me with many skills that I can apply to future job opportunities. The most applicable skill I acquired would be how to compose a media kit. For a radio station, the advertising in the commercial breaks is how they keep their doors open and the radio playing, so selling the station is a very important task. A media kit can be a quick summation of each station to aid in selling it for ad space. This summer I created three media kits for three different radio stations. I changed each format to better display the station’s vibe and musical genre. It was by far my favorite task I was responsible for during my internship.
